CRANS is leading a Thales Project entitled "Mathematical Modeling of Complex Systems with Applications in Biomedicine, Physics and the Technology of Materials" (MACOMSYS). The starting date of the project is 1-1-2012 and the names of the collaborating researchers can be found here. The first meeting of the partners of this project will take place at the National Research Project Demokritos in Athens, 5pm, Saturday February 18, 2012.

The ultimate goal of the FuturICT flagship project is to understand and manage complex, global, socially interactive systems, with a focus on sustainability and resilience. Revealing the hidden laws and processes underlying societies probably constitutes the most pressing scientific grand challenge of our century and is equally important for the development of novel robust, trustworthy and adaptive information and communication technologies (ICT), based on socially inspired paradigms. The Inter-University Network "Modelization and Analysis of Biomedical and Physical Systems" (MABIPHYS) was approved by the Research Committee of the University of Patras at the beginning of the academic year 2009-2010, and was funded with 8000 euro, with the aim of seeking common research activities and organizing seminars, workshops and common events.For more information visit our site

The Complex Systems and Applications group (COSA) was formed in 16/11/2006 by decision of the Executive Board of the National Centre of Scientific Sciences “Demokritos”.
