Brief Biography
Dr.
Tsiatas holds a Diploma degree in Civil Engineering from the
National Technical University of Athens (1997), a M.Sc. degree
in Civil Engineering from the Imperial College of Science and
Technology of London (1998), a M.Sc. degree in Civil Engineering
from National Technical University of Athens (2000), and a
Doctoral Degree in Civil Engineering from National Technical
University of Athens (2003). He has held or currently holding
appointments at the Piraeus University of Applied Sciences
(P.U.A.S.) as Ad. Assistant Professor (2004‑), Hellenic Open
University as member of the Coactive Educational Staff (2013‑),
and Akmi Metropolitan College as member of the Educational Staff
(2014‑2016).
The
research activity of Dr. Tsiatas comprises linear and nonlinear
theory of elasticity, static, dynamic and stability analysis of
structures, shape optimization of structures, composite
materials, micromechanics, and computational mechanics. He has
authored or co-authored approximately 65 scientific publications
(28 in international peer reviewed journals), and refereed for
over 35 international journals. His work has attracted over 700
citations by independent researchers. So far, he has served as
Joint Coordinator and Researcher in 1 project sponsored by the
Ministry of National Education and Cults - European Social Fund.
He has served or is currently serving as Editorial Board Member
in the
Journal of Applied Mathematics,
in Mathematical Problems in Engineering, in the
Journal of Applied and Computational Mechanics, in the
International Journal of Research Innovations in
Civil Engineering, and in Frontiers in Built Environment
(Earthquake Engineering Section). Moreover, he has participated
in the
Scientific Advisory Committee of 1 International
Conference.
Dr.
Tsiatas is also member of several professional and scientific
associations. He had served as Member of the
European Community on Computational Methods in Applied Sciences
(E.C.CO.M.A.S.)
Young Investigator Committee (2014-2016). He is
currently serving as Executive Board Member of the Greek
Association of Computational Mechanics (GR.A.C.M.) and of the
Hellenic Society of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics
(H.S.T.A.M).
