How to reach Patras

Follow the New National Highway from Athens.

All flights arrive at the “Eleftherios Venizelos” airport in Athens. The airport is connected with the centre of Athens, Syntagma Square with busses, No 095 which run every few minutes all 24 hours and it takes about 50 minutes to reach Syntagma Square. The cost of the ticket for this bus, which connects the airport with the centre of Athens is 2.90 euro and you can use it for 24 hours (from the moment you cancel it) on all public city transportation (buses, tram, train, metro). By Coach

The best and quickest way to travel from Athens to Patras is by coach. There are coach services from Athens to Patras, with departures approximately every half an hour. The bus terminal in Athens is called the "KTEL Peloponnisou (Kifissos station)". A one way ticket costs approximately 12 Euro. For information about the timetable of the coaches that leave from Athens or Patras click here. Once in Syntagma Square you should do the following in order to go to "KTEL Peloponnisou (Kifissos station)":

·        1st option: take a taxi. This will cost approximately 5-6 euro.

·        2nd option: use the public city transportation. About 20 meters from Sintagma square is the Metro station. You should take the Metro line number 2 (red in the map) and get off at the second stop from Syntagma, stop “Omonoia”. Click here for a map of the metro lines. Remember that your ticket of 2.90 from the airport is still valid (if you use it within 24 hours from the first cancellation) and you don’t have to cancel it again. Once in Omonoia square you should go on foot (about 10 minutes) to the bus station of buses number 051, which leave from Menandrou and Zinonos Street and go to “KTEL Peloponnisou (Kifissos station)” (the bus terminal is inside the coach station). In order to go to the bus station of the buses 051, you should take Agiou Konstandinou street, turn left on the first church you see on your left (Menandrou street) and walk until you find the first street on your right, which is Zinonos street. Remember again that your ticket of 2.90 from the airport is still valid (if you use it within 24 hours from the first cancellation) and you don’t have to cancel it again. The normal ticket for the buses (valid only for one cancellation costs 0.45 euro)

By Rail

You can reach Patras from Athens also by train. The jounery lasts about 3.5-4 hours The train terminal in Athens is called the "Larissa station". A one way ticket costs approximately 10 Euro. For information about the timetable of the trains that leave from Athens or Patras click here. Once in Syntagma Square you should do the following in order to go to the train terminal:

·        1st option: take a taxi. This will cost approximately 5-6 euro.
