Introductory concepts (quotient of commutative rings, maximal and prime ideals). Noether rings. Hilbert's basis theorem. Radicals of ideals. Krull dimension. Fraction rings. Integer elements of a ring. Algebraic and transcendental extensions of fields, degree of transcendence. Elements of the theory of polynomial equations. Discriminants, annihilators. Algebraic curves, affine manifolds, Nullstellensatz.
