From the academic year 2017-2018, the Internship for Students of the Department of Mathematics is instituted. The Internship enables students who are at least in the 7th semester of their studies to work in public or private organizations for 2 months in order to gain experience in issues related to the subject of their studies. The Internship can be carried out if it is declared as an Elective Course, with code AL462, and upon request of interested students to the Internship Office of the University of Patras, on specific dates which are announced each academic year. For the Department of Mathematics, the responsibility for coordinating and selecting the companies/organizations as well as the students who will participate in the Internship lies with Mr. Sotiris Kotsiantis, assistant professor of the Department, as Scientific Director. The choice of the PA course can only be made once. No teaching/credit units are counted towards the teaching/credit units required for the degree.
