Description
Introduction to simple linear regression and straight line relationships between two variables. The simple linear model. Straight line fitting, least squares parameter estimation. Gauss-Markov assumptions for residuals and properties of least squares estimators. Analysis of variance table, hypothesis tests and confidence intervals. Examination of residuals. Study of linear regression with tables. Multiple linear regression. The multiple linear model. Polynomial models. The use of dummy variables. Procedure for selecting the best fitting equation.
