The building facilities of the Department of Mathematics are located within the university campus of the University of Patras in the region of Rio. The Department of Mathematics co-opted with the Department of Biology in a single three-storey building.
The access of visitors to Patras University / Mathematics Department from Patras and vice versa is achieved in one of the following ways.
By suburban rail
From the train station in the center of Patras you arrive at "Kastelokambos" stop and there you are transiting in a bus of OSE, which stops at various points of the campus, one of which is near the Department of Mathematics. The suburban Patras operates daily from 06:30 to 22:30 for the route Agios Andreas - Patras - Agios Vasilios and every hour from 07:00 to 23:00 for the route Agios Vassilios - Patras - Agios Andreas, enabling the bicycle carrier. The ticket costs 1.40 Euro per route and 1 Euro for the students. A monthly student card is also issued at a cost of 15 euros.
By bus
There are 2 lines of the urban KTEL of Patras serving the University, No9 and No6 (because line 6 does not come exclusively to the University, it needs attention and there must be a sign on the bus). Bus number 6 starts at Ermou Street and schedules are often at peak times. Bus number 9 starts at Aratos Street and arrives at the University via the Hellenic Stratiotou Street, with itineraries running every 20 minutes. Finally, there is the No6 express line leaving Archbishop Kirillou Street every 30 minutes (more information).
By taxi
You can call a radio taxi (some of the calling telephones are also: 2610346700/18300, 2610450000). For departure from the University there is a taxi boarding station next to Building A (Rectorate), as well as in front of the central gate of the University Hospital of Rio.
By car
The University is about 10 kilometers from the city. From the center of Patras, follow Corinthou street until its end, then follow Panepistimiou Street and shortly after the "Olympus Dimitris Tofalos" indoor gym, you meet the first traffic lights right before the river (Haradros) and turn right. This road leads to the University with clear signs. If you come from Athens, use the Athens - Patras highway. After the Rio toll, follow the right lane with the sign Ioannina - Rio Ferry and exit at exit 25 Rio - Center. At the point where the road is separated, follow the left-hand street marked "University hospital" that passes under the bridge (please keep the right lane) and after 500 m you will see the University Hospital. It is there that the University campus begins.
