The subjects with which the Applied Analysis Department deals are:Differential Equations(Common, Some),Engineering(Newtonian, Analytical, Fluid Mechanics, Quantum Mechanics, Celestial) andMathematical Physics(Dynamic Systems, Chaos, Fractals).
TheDifferential Equationsis the branch of Mathematics through which a multitude of problems in many sciences, such as Physics, Chemistry, Medicine, Biology, Sociology, Economics, Industry, etc., are mathematically modeled.
The various areas ofEngineeringThey incorporate applications of Differential Equations as well as many subjects of Theoretical Mathematics, such as, for example, Integral and Differential Calculus, Linear Algebra, Algebra, Operator Theory, etc. for addressing problems in Dynamics and Kinematics.
Finally, theMathematical PhysicsIt is the preeminent field of development and application of all mathematical theories and methods.
The research activities of the members of the Department focus on the development of theoretical tools and applied methods for the standardization and solution of problems in Applied Analysis. The teaching activities at undergraduate and postgraduate level aim at the transmission of knowledge of all the above, as well as guidance towards the research process and methodology.
